Good questions
as far as i know there are like 5 or 6 different colors/tonalities accepted for testudo graeca terrestris , i believe this resulted from merge of different sub-species in nature .they use to be present in almost all middle east like syria, lebanon jordania and israel . In the papers say they're from jordania but normally the more lighter are from jordania and others from lebanon/syria . Pure HIGH YELLOW i've only 3 , 2 female,1 male(i was kinda obliged to buy 9 to have those high yellow as some are more alike to ibera or anamurensis despite different morphology) and this characteristic occurs from gens and in many species more , not only in terrestris .
i keep 'em at night inside and outside during the day as long as the temperature is ~25 celsius or more . definetely it's more like klenimanni as they dont tolerate both low temperatures and from moderate to high humidity . due to tech difficulties to maintain them in correct setup(humidity below 30%) they use to have nasal mucus , but you know , this is kinda chronic disease among graecas(kind of rhinitis, only afecting respiratory upper tract) originated from stress from others, inside/outside, and even if i administrate any meds, after some months all returns - anyway i use to avoid bad breathing and dehydratation cause by this pathology with some salt baths .
About hibernation , they dont hibernate actually , but i use to "force" some kind of hibernation-brumation during from end of december to middle of february - no more than 2 months of semi-hibernation to get them more healthier and full powered to breed in spring .
i didn't succeed breeding them so far i expect it this year , they have average of 10Y.O. so breeding can occurs from 7-8 y.o. but from readings i know sometimes females can be prepared only at the age of 15 y.o. so i really don't know .Anyway it's being kinda weird , as the dominant male is changing from year to year , and this "fight" for dominance only occurs between 2 males because the high yellow one is quite peaceful .as they seem to have more or less the same age the dominance it's not about weight as the male1 have ~900gr and the dominant one(male2) only ~650gr . it is the very same with my horsfieldii-the younger male appears to be the dominant one despite of the considerable difference of size and weight .
there's a good approach of TGT in
