After the first (viewtopic.php?f=24&t=17934) and the second egg-laying (viewtopic.php?f=24&t=18188), our female made a third egg-laying the 19th July. You can see below some pictures:







The 20th July, an egg of the first egg-laying (24th may) "explosed" in the incubator with a sound as "clac" and a bad smell



... finally the must, we have the first birth this 25th July after 61 days of incubation at 32°C with nocturnal interruption.
The beginning of the output was a little inversing



... but after everyting is OK

In 2008 we have not had babies.
Our female laid six eggs but all eggs were "clear". She has not been fertilized in 2006 and in 2007 because our male was left ... probably the explication.

Some news about the second egg-laying ... we had three babies but one is died. He was very small: 7 grams and probably his formation wasn't finished. He lived one week.
You find below some pictures.

The first is born the 16th augustus. His weight 12 grams.





The second is born the 1èth augustus. His weight 11 grams.







And the third ... the little baby of 7 grams, born the 22th augustus.
He beginned to break his egg the 20th augustus ...



And the 22th at 0845Hr, a leg is out ...



... at 1420Hr, the baby is out





But the "sac vitellin" (in french, sorry but i don't find a correct translation in english or italian ... help please !!!) is not in perfect state and the inside of egg isn't normal: bad smells and decay





A picture where you can see this baby with his brother/sister born the 16 th augustus ... a big difference



The rest of the first egg-laying was not good. We opened them after 90 days: two eggs not fertilized and one baby is dead in his egg ... again





Generaly, in the North of Europe (Belgique and France), 2010 isn't a good year for the (artificial) incubation and the births: unfertilized eggs, dead babies in eggs and low birth: 30 at 40% of birth, this is low.
I hope you have best results in Italy.

I read that in Italy a "siamese" ibera baby-tortoise is born. Is it just and do you know if it is possible to see some pictures ?Many people talk about that on the francophone forums

The last news ... for the moment, two babies are birthed of the third egg-laying.

The first became the 12th september after 55 days of incubation. His weight is 14 grams (Weight of egg: 20 grams).
A picture taken the 12th september ...

Today the second baby is birthed during the afternoon. His weight is 12 grams (Weight of egg: 18 grams).
He has a particularity on his shell: three normal vertebral scales and one small.





There is still one egg in incubation ... hope, hope

The last egg has hatched yesterday morning after 61 days of incubation.
The weight of this baby is 15 grams (egg: 20 grams).
