successful breeding of Heosemys spinosa!

Messaggioda AFRO-thunder » gio lug 19, 2007 8:07 pm

My friend Gerhard Schaffer (chairman of the ISV) could
successfully breed his first H. spinosa (and a second egg looks good as well):
30 days with 25 degrees Celsius then with 28 degrees until the baby
hatched after 126 days in total.
Substrate was Cocopeat with about 15% Seramis.

Soon he will publish a complete article in the SACALIA.

Some information is given in German:

Best wishes,

Stephan

This is a great success, for him and for this turtle in captivity.
Thank you for this short description about incubation. If you have one picture of this turtle you can send it to us, we will be very happy!

Thank you
Best regards
